This cartoon fits within the scope of This We Believe because educators need to use multiple learning and teaching approaches. In this generation students are so technology savvy that schools need to keep up to date. Fortunately, a lot of schools are able to have smartboards instead of chalkboards which incorporates more technology into the classroom. All kids have different learning styles and we need to try to accommodate them. Most of the time technology intrigues student learning. ~Wendy Marney

We need to incorporate technology into our lessons because it is our job, as educators, to appeal to the students' interests and make them feel as if the lesson specifically applies to their lives. Since kids today use technology for EVERYTHING it is only natural that they would feel it is necessary for technology to be added into any lesson in order for it to be relevant.

We do compete with so much technology for the students attention! They are raised on television and if you can't hook them early and keep them engaged, you will lose them. I am very fortunate to have good technology at my school where we can incorporate visual, auditory and kinesthetic simultaneously. I also try to do several projects incorporating student topic choice and internet research.
